While he was born a commoner, he quickly grew to be a pretty young lad, and was often bogged down with love-letters and propositions from many young girls and boys. That was how he came to the Alabaster Weyr -- on the back of a blue-rider's dragon. The rider claimed that his dragon had Searched Diamae, but everyone knew that that couldn't be the only reason! Everybody expected Dia' to bond a green or a blue, considering his relationship with the Blue-rider at the time. When D'mae bonded Bronze Plustith, it was to great surprise of anyone watching his Impression! Plustith exclaimed that he didn't care about bloody sexual-preference, thank-you-very-much; if he wanted his rider to bed a woman then he'd bloody-well win a flight, and other humans should butt out of his life. (That wasn't his hatching speech, thank goodness!) The pair whizzed through most of their Weyrling lessons, with only a few slip-ups on either part. D'mae began training to become a Wing Second, transferring to Blackstone Weyr only a year after graduation. This was when he met up with Diewel and the woman practically latched onto him. Settling into a new routine, D'mae and Diewel began working together more and more, and eventually sleeping together, and then when Diewel heard about being shipped out, she dragged D'mae with her.

He doesn't mind, of course. In fact, he couldn't be happier to be offworld with Plustith and Diewel and her dragon. Drunk on the sights and experiences of travel through the Nexus, D'mae, his bond and his partner settled for a little while at the Ranch of Doom... however, things didn't stay perfect for long. D'mae continued to get his love letters from besotted men and women (not all human, now that they'd left the Weyr!) and Diewel, jealous, eventually put forth an ultimatum: it was either her, or D'mae and Plustith were on their own.

...D'mae split with the woman, though it was not an easy decision. Now he's gone off to Nidus Corona. He wasn't expecting Plustith to win the flight that would determine leadership of the Nidus! It seems like life is ever propelling him upwards, and D'mae, though a little bamboozled, seems to naturally be able to deal with all of the new situations that get thrown at him.
