| Immortality (Phoenix): Every 300 years, Chice must build a pyre of myrrh and copper upon which she self-immolates and is born anew. In this way, she is able to live forever. She can still be killed by a fatal blow, though she will not die of old age unless she doesn't perform the proper immolation ritual. | |
| Personality: | Chice is a very unusual dragon, in that she is not only on fire, she is completely made of fire. She is nearly a fire elemental, save that her life-span is restricted to certain rites and rituals. More correctly, she could probably be called a Copper Elemental, as her fire is fueled by copper and she must consume this metal in any form to keep it glowing that brilliant blue.
Perhaps because of her oddness, Chice is quite interested in collecting other Nexiians to her that share in her love of fiery things and places. Her personality is magnetic: she is playful and energetic, talkative (her voice is a lilting crackle and is tinged in blue light even when speaking mind to mind) and curious. Chice is observant enough to be able to read most species' body-language, though she has more luck with quadrupeds than bipeds and humanoids. Chice instinctually gravitates towards balance and harmony, meaning that she never plays mean pranks, nor does she praise without reason. Those who are drawn to her seem to seek her approval on things, even though she may be younger than them; she seems to have a good eye for the way the world works, and can determine the gestalt of her small community with apparent ease. |
